Eagles Board Give Backing To Manager

In what was one of the shocks of last season being Palace suffering relegation from the Premiership, the club have today given their backing to the Manager to stay in his role at Selhurst Park and get the club back into the top tier of TDE. In the space of three seasons, the club have won the Premiership to then lose out back to back titles on goal difference to being relegated, the lottery that TDE is but despite many around the club wondering whether the Manager should or would be replaced, those rumours have been put to bed with the news that the Manager will be in the dug out to see out the final season of his contract.

Speaking to the media earlier this afternoon from Copers Cope, the Palace gaffer had this to say ;

" Please to be taking this team into what will be one of the toughest seasons for some time. I've got them promoted before and we will be looking to do that once again. We wont be looking past this season, I have one season left on my deal and I'm sure this season will determine if that is extended or not but the battle is one we are up for and one we will go into looking to deliver some success to the club.

Right now, we have a few offers to look at, if any of them are of interest we could see some transfer business happening ".

Eagles Boss Puts Off Field Drama Aside To Issue Warning To Fellow Clubs

Its been a disaster season and a half for Crystal Palace following their relegation to the Championship with the club deciding against making a change at the top and backing the Manager to restore Premiership status but its been the opposite as injuries to key players has seen them take just three wins from thirteen games which has resulted in the club sitting ninth place in the table.

With a public outburst by the Place boss some weeks ago, the club still kept faith in the Manager despite the poor results and with a media black out from the Eagles, nobody really knew what was happening behind the scenes....until now with the Manager speaking after the Blackburn game to issue a warning that his side are firmly challenging to sides above them and will do everything they can to put pressure on the sides and close the gap on the sides occupying the money places in the league.

Speaking to Talksport earlier this morning, the Eagles boss had this to say,

" I'm fully aware of the pressures that surround this job and the fact that we have struggled this season but when you take a top keeper out for nine games, it will hurt any side. We tried to bring in a replacement but were not able to so we went with what we had and Owen Goodman did us proud although the results were not what anybody wanted.

We got a massive win against Blackburn yesterday and we now need to push on and get our season started which is crazy saying that after round thirteen but this is a top squad of players and I have every confidence that we can still have a say in the promotion race.

Right now, some players are playing for their futures as I am for my future as Manager. There is no talk about an extension to my deal at Selhurst so as it stands, this could well be my last in this role. It snow up to us to get our season back on track and get the points on the board and push into the playoff places which I have every confidence of doing ".
