Scoring draw when The Reds U21 visited Wales for the first time this season

Wrexham U21 (2) 2 - 2 (1) Liverpool U21

The Reds U21 travelled the short trip to Wrexham to face The Red Dragons in the third round of the group stages in the youth cup. The away side got the worst possible start and found themselves two goals down inside the first twenty minutes of the game. Kingston Simbai struck first for the home side before Jake Lussey doubled their lead. The Reds U21 found themselves in all sorts of problems but James Bailey found Aiden Yeguo-Tomaszowicz and the visitors was a goal back with an hour left to play.

The Reds U21 changed things up in the second half and came out with more men in the midfield. They took control of the ball and after an hour played Aiden Yeguo-Tomaszowicz got his brace when he made it 2-2 from a well taken shot outside the box. A great comeback for the visitors and still half an hour to play. They had momentum and tried to go on to win the game. But the fifth goal never came and the two teams shared the points. A well played game by both sides.

Liverpool U21s three key players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Aiden Yeguo-Tomaszowicz -
the attacking minded midfielder was in superb form and helped his team to a draw after scoring two goals. He played just behind the two forwards and had a great game for The Reds U21.

⭐️⭐️ Jordan Willows - the young defensive midfielder had one of his best games this season and did a great job protecting his defence. He was good on the ball but it was his working rate who impressed the most.

⭐️ James Bailey - dominated the heart of the field and had several set pieces that was very close to get him more than a single assist. His right foot is one of the best in the league and something The Reds U21 need to take advantage of.

The Reds bounce back with a win after going three games without winning

Liverpool (1) 1 - 0 (0) Chelsea

You don't get any better defensively than The Reds is their performance against Chelsea. Chelsea managed 0 shots on target, 0 shots off target and 0 attempts on goal. It must be one of the best defensive performances from any of Eduardo's team in a long career as manager on TDE. The home side managed 10 attempts on goal themselves, five of them hitting the target. The first attempt of the game fell to Milos Kerkez who tried to catch Mads Hermansen off the line but Hermansen managed to save the ball with his fingertips. Lautaro Martinez, Aleksander Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai had chances to get their team in front but all missed from good positions. In the 38th minute The Reds got a much deserved lead when Dominik Szoboszlai played a ball through to Milos Kerkez. He lobbed Mads Hermansen and sent the home side a goal up.

The host had a narrow lead at half time and tried to get off to a scoring start in the second half but the chances they created wasn't exploited and it was a nervous run-in. In the end the home side didn't want to risk the narrow lead they had and went defensive to protect the win and three points.

Liverpools three key players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dominik Szoboszlai -
the Hungarian national captain was all over the place tonight and had a sublime performance. He set up Milos Kerkez for the winning goal but he also contributed with his working rate over the whole field. Showed yet again why he is considerated as the best box-to-box midfielder in the world. Two key tackles, two key passes, a shot on goal and an assist is absolute world class.

⭐️⭐️ Milos Kerkez - tonight we saw the offensively minded Milos Kerkez. There wasn't too much to do defensively and he had more room going forward than the last couple of games. Kerkez tested Hermansen at the early stages of the game before he scored the winner ten minutes before the break.

⭐️ Nicolas Gonzalez - perhaps his best performance since he joined The Reds from Norwich City earlier this month. Calm and collected on the ball and managed to get a lot of ball time. Stronger defensively than going forward and he showed why The Reds needed a defensive minded midfielder.

Another draw for the young reds when they visited The Foxes U21

Leicester U21 (1) 1 - 1 (0) Liverpool U21

The home side had picked a great formation and tactic from the start and Caleb Redhead made life difficult for the visitors with his movement and pace. He had a shot saved by Charlie Warren in the sixth minute before he scored a great opening goal from a well taken free kick. Both teams changed tactic after the opening goal but the host continued to control the game and Redhead was close to double the score when his powerful shot missed the target by a few inches.

The Reds U21 had a good team talk in the dressing room at half time and came out in the second half as a much changed side. In the opening seconds Vincent Joseph scored but he had touch the ball with his hand and the goal was disallowed. Caleb Redhead continued to harass the visitors but thanks to Charlie Warren The Reds U21 kept themselves alive. With fifteen minutes left of the game it looked like the visitors was heading for a loss but out of nothing Baylee Dipepa scored. Ajay Tavares went for the spectacular from over 40 yards but Sammie Saward tipped the ball over the bar and The Reds U21 was rewarded a corner kick. Jordan Willows played a deep corner where Baylee Dipepa had found himself space. His header went over Saward and into the far corner. The equliser the visitors had fought hard to get. Five minutes before full time Caleb Redhead had another golden opportunity to win the game but his shot sailed over the bar. A scoring draw in the end and a result the visitors have to be pleased with.

Liverpool U21s three star players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tom Dearden -
had a great game in as a centre back tonight and was by far the stand out player for The Reds U21. Defensively very strong and came up with two key tackles. A good passer of the ball and likes to run with the ball. It gives him space to find him team-mates and on two occasions he got himself a key pass.

⭐️⭐️ Baylee Dipepa - was introduced with twenty minutes left of the game and six minutes after he was brought on he scored the goal who earned his team a point. If it wasn't for Dipepa being 18 years of age he had played on more regular occasion but due to age he is dropped to 3rd choice for The Reds U21. But his qualities as a footballer is of high quality.

⭐️ Amara Nallo - had to come up big when the home side pushed for the winner and together with Tom Dearden they performed very well at the heart of the defence. Nallo had two key tackles which stopped The Foxes U21 from scoring more than one goal.

Can the win over Bayern Munich kick off The Reds Champions League campaign?

Bayern Munich (0) 1 - 2 (1) Liverpool

After losing two out of the three games in the opening stages of the Champions League, The Reds couldn't afford another loss when they visited Allianz Arena. The visitors got the tactical advantage from the start and they made the most of it. After Bryan Zaragoza tested Gianluigi Donnarumma early on, the visitors took control of the game and started to produce great goalscoring opportunities. Manuel Neuer made a great save in the 19th minute from a well placed shot from Nico Gonzalez and two minutes later the woodwork denied The Reds an opening goal when Lautaro Martinez almost scored from a spectacular bicycle kick. Midway through the first half the home side countered The Reds and Harry Kane was very close to score from a delicate header but it thumbed the post and went out. In the 32nd minute the away side took a much deserved lead when Conor Bradley found space down the right and played a great ball to Aleksander Isak. Isak rifled the ball into the top corner and left Manuel Neuer stranded. The home side changed their tactic after the opening goal but The Reds continued to be the better team. Lautaro Martinez and Nico Gonzalez had chances to make the score bigger but at half time The Reds found themselves a goal up.

In the opening minutes of the second half it was the two wonderkids, Jamal Musiala and Lennart Karl, who dominated the game and both had great opportunities to level for the home side. The future looks bright at Allianz Arena with such quality players in their roster. It was against run of play Aleksander Isak got his second of the evening when he lost his marker and put The Reds 2-0 up. A massive goal for the visitors. Half way through the second half the host was back in the game when Bryan Zaragoza's shot hit the post and onto the back of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Nothing the Italian international could do and the home side was a single goal behind. The home side pushed for the equliser but at the end of the game The Reds made it difficult for them when they changed to 5-2-2-1 and went with defensive tactic. The Reds had to get the win and the came away with such an important win. It could make the difference for the remainder of the group stages.

Liverpool's three star players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Aleksander Isak -
a brace from the big Swede was enough to secure the win for The Reds. He has found it hard to get on the scoresheet this season but had a great game at Allianz Arena. Hopefully he can built from it and go on to be the goalscorer we know he can be.

⭐️⭐️ Conor Bradley - what a game from the full back. Assisted Aleksander Isak on the opening goal and made life hard for Rafael Guerreiro down his right flank. Defensively his pace saved him time after time and he also got himself four key tackles.

⭐️ Nico Gonzalez - joined the club from The Canaries a couple of weeks ago and this performance shows he got every chance of making it at The Reds. Dominating performance in midfield and came close to score on numerous occasions. Good passer of the ball.

Still a possibility for The Reds U21 to get into the next stage

Liverpool U21 (0) 2 - 1 (1) Swansea City U21

After only a point in three games for The Reds U21 they had to come up with a win against The Swans U21 if they wanted to progress into the next round. It was a nervous start from the home side and a lot of mistakes in the opening stages of the game. After only ten minutes played Braiden Graham took full advantage of one of the mistakes and the visitors found themselves a goal up. The home side improved their performance after the opening goal and tested Tyler Jones on numerous occasions. By half time the visting goalkeeper had made six great saves and the reason why The Swans U21 found themselves in front at half time.

Braiden Graham almost doubled for the away side in the opening stages of the second half but Charlie Warren made an outstanding save and kept The Reds U21 at shooting distance. They made the most of Warren's big save and after an hour played Aiden Yeguo-Tomaszowicz made it 1-1 from the outside of his right foot. The goal the host needed to believe they could turn the game around. With twenty minutes left of the game, Tyler Jones was caught into action on three occasions inside a minute but all of them well handled by Jones. But The Reds U21 got the winning goal they was looking for when James Bailey nutmegged Tyler Jones and with ten minutes left of the game they had completed their comeback. A massive win for The Reds U21 and they managed to deliver under pressure.

Liverpool U21s three star players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ James Bailey -
absolute outstanding tonight with a goal and an assist. The attacking minded midfielder was the best player out there and his performance was world class. He played a little higher up the field than normally and it suited him very well.

⭐️⭐️ Carter Pinnington - a great defensive game for Pinnington and one he needed to show his gaffer that he should be considered in the starting line up on more regular occasions. Earned a massive 98 abs in total.

⭐️ Charlie Warren - conceeded early on but from there he played a sublime game. Made eight great saves and the one he had at the start of the second half was absolutely world class. A saved wich tipped the game in The Reds U21 favour and helped them to get the three points they needed.

The Reds first trip to Hill Dickinson stadium ended with a win

Everton (0) 1 - 2 (0) Liverpool

It was the first time The Reds visited Hill Dickinson stadium and like every local derby they wanted to put their name in the history book. A win away to The Toffees in the first trip to their new stadium would see The Reds fans getting another one for the memories. The Reds was the better side in the first half but neither teams managed to get themselves on the scoresheet. Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai had shots against the woodwork twice but couldn't get themselves in front.

The second hald was only two minutes old when Lautaro Martinez made a wreckless challenge on Rayan Aït-Nouri and the home side was handed a penalty. Gabriel Martinelli sent Gianluigi Donnarumma the wrong way and the host was the first to score in a Merseyside derby at Hill Dickinson stadium. The Reds went all out attack after the opening goal and what a turn of event it was for the visitors. Three minutes after they fell a goal behind they had turned the game around and found themselves 2-1 up. Alexander Isak levelled when his shot smashed against the bar onto the line but the ball had clearly passed the line. Two minutes later Alexis Mac Allister played a beautiful cross to Jarell Quansah and his powerful header saw The Reds scoring twice inside two minutes. The home side was shocked and never managed to get themselves on their feet after the massive turnaround for The Reds. It was a game for the history books and the first Merseyside derby at Hill Dickinson stadium will always have Liverpool as 2-1 winners.

Liverpools three star players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ibrahima Konate -
the french international was world class and frustrated the start trio to the home side. Kai Havertz, Cody Gakpo and Gabriel Martinelli had a tough time against Konate. Three key tackles made as well as getting the assist when Isak started the comeback.

⭐️⭐️ Milos Kerkez - defensively absolute superb. Four key tackles earned him 80 KAbs. When the home side countered The Reds, Kerkez was absolute key with his pace and quick feet. Tried to help out offensively but we've seen him playing a better offensive game before.

⭐️ Alexander Isak - scored the equliser and started The Reds great comeback. The big Swede was at his best against The Toffees and had another two attempts on target. He caused a lot of problems for the host and with a little more luck he should have scored another one.

The Reds U21 fell short to The Cherries U21 at home

Liverpool U21 (0) 1 - 2 (1) Bournemouth U21

Two restrictive managers set their team up with counter attack and it was a pretty dull game where the home side was the better team. They had 54 % possession and 8 v 5 attempts on goal. But Sam Proctor was outstanding for The Cherries U21 in their goal and helped his team to a great away win. The first action of the game ended in a goal for the visitors when Marley Frohock got the better of Tom Dearden and was calm as you like when he faced Charlie Warren one v one. The first half an hour went by without the home side being able to create chances but when they changed their tactic to european football, they started to play good offensive football. James Bailey and Vincent Joseph had opportunities to make it a tie game at half time but they missed their chances.

The host looked like getting back in the game and they started the second half very well but against run of play the away side scored a fluke of a goal. Caden Voice tried to lob Charlie Warren from over 30 yards and it looked like Warren had full control of the attempt but somehow he slipped and the visiting team found themselves two goals up. Marley Frohock was sent off with thirty minutes left of the game when he got his second bookable offence and The Reds U21 finished the game 11 v 10. Rio Ngumoha scored from a great diving header to make it 1-2 and the home side threw everyone forward looking for the equliser. Baylee Dipepa, Emmanuel Airoboma and Rio Ngumoha all had chances to get the point The Reds U21 needed but Sam Proctor stopped them and The Cherries U21 came away with a quality win.

Liverpool U21s three star players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rio Ngumoha -
had a great game and caused a lot of problems for The Cherries U21. Quick feet and great technique saw him getting the better of The Cherries U21 defenders time after time. Scored a great goal from a diving header and should at least scored once more.

⭐️⭐️ James Bailey - Yet again he controlled the midfield and together with Aiden Yeguo-Tomaszowicz The Reds U21 got two of the best midfielders there is. Creative in the last third which earned him two key passes.

⭐️ Aiden Yeguo-Tomaszowicz - very comfortable on the ball and it seems like he got all the time in the world when he got the ball at his feet. Doing a lot of miles throughout the game and a player who will make it into senior football if he continue to develop like this.

Another win for The Reds in the Champions League and them looking for a semi final spot

Liverpool (1) 2 - 1 (1) Manchester City

Inside the first five minutes Alexander Isak had tested Bart Verbruggen twice and it was very hectic for The Cityzens goalkeeper. On the third attempts for Isak he scored. James McConnell play an oustanding cross to Isak and he went for a spectacular bicycle kick. No chance for Verbruggen and the home side was a goal up. The home side had chance to double their lead but just before half an hour played The Cityzens scored from their first shot on target. A skillful effort from Sasa Kalajdzic was enough to make the score 1-1. The game was still at level terms at half time and both teams knew a good performance in the second half could win them the game.

It was a nervous performance from both outfits in the second half and neither managed to play any good football. It was a battle in midfield and when either had the ball, they made big mistakes without being punished. The home side lost Conor Bradley with ten minutes left of the game with a red card and had to come up with something special to win the game. With five minutes left of the game Alexis Mac Allister cracked a laser towards goal and it was no chance for Bart Verbruggen. There's no sweeter way to win a football game. Two wins in row for The Reds now and they look like a team wanting the Champions League trophy.

Liverpools three star players:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Andrey Santos -
one of the best performance we've seen from a midfielder this season. Absolute world class and his passing was outstanding. Time after time he found his team mates from good passing abilities and ended up with six key passes. Something you don't see every night. Pure quality from Andrey Santos.

⭐️⭐️ Alexis Mac Allister - came on as a substitute and scored an absolute screamer to win the game for The Reds. Didn't do much anything else to be honest but such a strike and important goal deserved two stars tonight.

⭐️ Milos Kerkez - he needed to be at his best defensively when he was up against Mohamed Kudus and was outstanding aginst a tough opponent. He earned good abs overall in a game he concentrated about his defensive contribution rather than his offensively minded head.
